Nick Paterson’s polypropylene and aluminium creation The Better Umbrella won the £5000 first prize in the Muji Design Awards. Joint-second prize winners were Karl Ridier Kristiansen for the Kampolite folding table, and Sosuke Nakaboo for Legs for a stool, a vacuum-formed ‘pack’ with aluminium legs that becomes an easy-to-assemble stool.
