RVP Foods has appointed Nine Yards to work on new product development for its frozen ready meals range, Oriental Express.
Details of the project are shrouded in secrecy. According to Nine Yards marketing consultant Jane Scott, ‘We are looking to the future with Oriental Express. We are concerned with how we can make the products and the offer more appropriate and appealing to the lifestyles and behaviour of [consumers]. We are focusing on far-reaching NPD.’
The last major development under the Oriental Express brand was the launch last year of a range of microwaveable Chinese meals which cost 99p each.
It also introduced frozen microwaveable snacks under the Fasta Pasta brand last year.
Nine Yards won the work without a pitch, having made an approach to the client.
The consultancy refuses to make any further comment.
