Market-leading tractor manufacturer Massey Ferguson has unveiled a new chassis designed by Smallfry in Coventry. It is the first complete overhaul of the chassis design since the 1950s, and has boosted the stress tolerances and lifting capacity. Smallfry was briefed to create a cleanly styled design for the manufacturer’s 4200 tractor series launched this summer. ‘Some farmers like CDs and air-conditioned cabs, but what customers really want is a work-horse which they know is reliable,’ says consultancy managing director Steven May-Russell.
