Tango bottles for bar market

Tango has launched to the on-trade in moulded black glass bottles designed by the brand’s retained consultancy Wickens Tutt Southgate.

The four distinct mouldings for Tango’s orange, apple, blackcurrant and lemon flavours, were launched to retail trade last year.

“Our aim has been to translate the graphics of Tango’s cans into a physical moulding on glass for the on-trade,” says WTS account director Dominic England.

Soft drinks group Britvic, which owns the Tango brand, is already established as a leading supplier of non-alcoholic drinks to the licensed trade. But the move by Tango into the on-trade is aimed at leveraging its heavily-promoted positioning as a popular youth brand.

“The launch of Tango bottles is aimed at capitalising on the growing demand for soft drinks among club and bar customers. The hope is that it will go fully national in its distribution,” says England.
