Cabe unveils Festive Five

The Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment has rewarded excellence in school and inclusive design in its annual Festive Five Award.

This year’s winners include the Victoria & Albert Museum’s Museum of Childhood, which was recently refurbished by architect Caruso St John; the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, designed by Pegasus Architects; and the City of London Academy, designed by Studio E Architects.

Each year, Cabe rewards five individuals, five public sector organisations and five private companies as part of the awards scheme.

‘School design and inclusive design are often misunderstood and poorly executed. These are two areas where standards have to rise dramatically in 2007,’ says Richard Simmons, chief executive of Cabe.
