Metro targets morning readers

London Metro, the capital’s new morning newspaper, is to launch on 9 March. The paper features a design adapted from the template of the original Stockholm Metro by Clarke Hooper Consulting.

The Metro format consists of a free paper, distributed from all London Underground stations. It will offer brief news, and a full listings guide, but be paid for by advertisers rather than readers.

CHC also liaised with the manufacturers of the distribution racks which will carry the paper, and organised focus groups of target readers. The paper aims to meet the needs of busy, affluent Londoners.
