Record put straight over recent redundancies at The Identica Partnership

I write to correct an inaccurate statement contained in the article on redundancies at The Identica Partnership (DW 7 June).

It is always a difficult time in any company when market conditions require the management to adjust staffing numbers to those required to meet the current levels and mix of business. This company, as others in our sector, has not taken this decision lightly and we have tried to deal with each member of staff involved in a constructive, professional and supportive manner.

I was, therefore, extremely distressed when your report described the staff concerned as “not suitably developing”. This statement does not reflect my, or Identica’s view of these employees or the basis on which they were made redundant.

The action was necessary to adjust staffing numbers to current levels and mix of business. Given a different business climate we would be very happy to consider the re-engagement of the staff concerned. Indeed, since the redundancies we have been able to offer freelance employment to some of them.

It is our hope and wish that all the staff concerned find alternative employment as soon as possible and we are actively supporting them in this regard.
