Council firms up future aims

The Design Council has identified eight themes to steer its activities over the next three years in a corporate plan due to be published next month.

The plan, now at the Department of Trade and Industry, highlights themes including design’s role in aiding competitive success.

The council is also due to implement its new identity in late April. Council design director Sean Blair refuses to name the designer, but says “we’re using an eclectic group of people” and that the identity will be “evolutionary”.
