Several cars arrived during the staging of this photo, according to Nick Savva, “tea boy” at Morris.

“They gave us some funny looks and kind of zipped round the side. It was a fine Scottish day with lots of snow,” says Savva, who got very cold but says he “can’t afford a hat and gloves until this range takes off”. Which it seems to be doing, with orders from three Whitbread pubs. “The design is different but not too different,” says Savva obliquely.

The metal back of the chair can have words laser-cut into it. Whitbread has asked for “Ice Cold Beer” but future clientele may be more adventurous. Perhaps “If you don’t know me by now” might squeeze in – the range is a strong contender for a restaurant Simply Red is rumoured to be opening in Manchester.
