Denton constructs CH2M Hill offices

Denton Associates is to design the new offices for CH2M Hill following a successful ideas presentation last week.

The £300 000 brief encompasses two floors for about 50 staff in London’s Kensington Village and the design aims to bring the landscape of CH2M Hill’s projects into its offices.

CH2M Hill is an engineering and construction company concentrating on large scale projects, such as dams.

Denton Associates head of design Wayne Craig says, ‘We want to fuse together the two faces of the company. We used the basic construction materials such as concrete, steel and wood to symbolise the construction element.

We also used visual techniques, such as lenticular graphics, to show the large scale of the projects and to represent the environmental aspects.’

The company plans to use the office as its flagship, so the design focuses on developing the image of the company through revamped reception and public areas.

There is an emphasis on client hospitality and the office areas will be open plan.

The office will also have an exterior space designed as a grassed patio and including a herb garden and life-sized cow.

Denton Associates was awarded the project without a pitch on the strength of previous work for the company.
