Enterprise IG is planning to set up an office in Brazil to service its new South American clients.

Enterprise IG has been targeting the region for the past six to nine months and “is very close to signing up” between three and five major projects, says Enterprise IG joint chief executive Jim Johnson in New York.

The projects are with financial and government institutions in Argentina and Brazil. “The marketplace is privatising and developing very quickly, and it is looking to the US for experience in branding work,” Johnson says.

The intention is to open an office in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in the next six months to a year, from which Enterprise IG will service Chile and Argentina.

The operation is likely to be headed up by one of the native South Americans Johnson has been recruiting in the US. He expects the office to be up to 20-strong within a year. “We will work very hard to limit the growth of the office,” he adds.
