Coley Porter Bell cuts staff

WPP-owned design consultancy Coley Porter Bell has stripped out a level of account handling staff in a management restructure. The group has made two account managers redundant and promoted a third.

The restructuring is a result of client feedback, not a cost cutting exercise, says a CPB spokesman. The consultancy has won around £1m of new business in the last five months, mostly in packaging and new product development, he says.

The two account managers made redundant last Friday were Penny Drain and Rochelle Martyn. The remaining account manager, Susie Gray, has been promoted to account director. The consultancy now operates a team of account directors and directors-in-charge, with the account manager title no longer used. No more redundancies are expected, says the spokesman.
