Kugel branding for King’s Cross

Design group Kugel has created branding for the King’s Cross Central Development, Europe’s largest urban regeneration project.

London & Continental Railways, which controls the majority of the land involved, is currently establishing a shortlist of partners to help rejuvenate the 20ha central London site. A mixed use development, comprising retail, entertainment, office and residential buildings is proposed.

The site, between the City and the West End, is adjacent to King’s Cross and St Pancras rail stations. It is currently a run-down inner-city environment. In 2001, LCR is to start construction of a Channel Tunnel Rail Link to King’s Cross, eventually making it one of Europe’s most accessible inner city areas. Pancras Chambers, which forms the Victorian Gothic front of St Pancras Station, is to be refurbished to form apartments and a Marriott hotel.

Kugel’s identity will initially feature on materials used to seek joint venture partners. Later uses are expected to include presentations to ministers, councils and the local community.

A three-dimensional version of the identity has been created for multimedia presentations.
