NMEC poised to take on another design group

The New Millennium Experience Company is considering appointing an additional design consultancy to create customer events literature for the Millennium Dome in Greenwich.

Although Agenda Design Associates was appointed last year to create the bulk of consumer literature for the Dome – including national curriculum teaching materials, events leaflets, fulfilment mailers and ad hoc projects under lead consultancy Lambie-Nairn – some visitor information work has not been allocated. The deadline for the Dome’s Millennium opening is fast approaching.

“On the design side we might well need to create distinct identities on things like orientation leaflets or event schedules at the Dome,” says NMEC head of marketing Ruth Wicks.

“Agenda has already produced a few consumer leaflets for events we attended and the educational resource pack which we produce every year.”

Agenda is also working on literature for the National Programme of co-ordinated millennium events and will probably carry out other work, says Wicks.

Agenda is understood to have won a three-way pitch for the latest round of consumer work before Christmas, and to have recently appointed a project manager and two designers to assist with the NMEC work.
