Branding specialist The Field has been acquired by integrated marketing group Communiqué 360 for an unspecified sum.

The Field’s five-strong team, including managing director Simon Barbato and senior account director Pamela Day, will move to Communiqué 360’s offices in Richmond, bringing with them a blue-chip client list which includes Virgin Experience, Fulham FC and Johnnie Walker. Communiqué offers direct marketing, new media, design, brand development and advertising services.

‘We have been going 14 years and we have always watched the big boys buying things and never actually got round to doing it ourselves,’ Communiqué 360 managing director Tim Petherbridge comments.

‘The first area we have looked at is branding, and hopefully the second one will be something to do with e-marketing. Direct marketing will be something which will follow shortly after,’ he says.

The deal is based on The Field’s projected annual turnover of £500 000. Communiqué 360 ranked 43rd in last week’s DW Top 100 Consultancy Survey, reporting fee income of £2.25m and a turnover of £3.95m for 2003.
