Spanair clears Wink for rebrand

Winkreative has been appointed to work with Spain’s number two airline Spanair. The group will initially rebrand Spanair’s Scandinavian routes, including its website and in-flight goods.

Spanair is owned by Scandinavian airline giant SAS and it is the number one airline for routes between Scandinavia and Spain.

Winkreative’s rebranding for the airline will begin with a design review which includes Spanair’s menu cards, coffee cups and trays and the in-flight magazine for passengers travelling to destinations throughout Scandinavia.

A spokeswoman for Spanair confirms the appointment of the group and says that the initial work may lead to further work for the consultancy, potentially incorporating other routes.

‘We want to offer a special service for the Scandinavian market but will consider a review of other markets,’ the spokeswoman says.

A Winkreative spokeswoman says, ‘The consultancy has been appointed on a project by project basis and its role may grow over time.’

Winkreative’s most prominent work to date was arguably the rebranding of beleaguered Swissair as Swiss.
