London’s Cunningham Leigh Design is redesigning elements of stores for late night supermarket chain 7-Eleven.

The consultancy has been briefed to ‘put a bit of style into the shops’, according to partner Peter Cunningham.

‘We’re designing an internal self-service counter to be launched within the next two months. The chain is considering more design, for example shop fronts and cash desks,’ he says. ‘I would think we’d be doing them.’

According to Cunningham, 7-Eleven has said it needs a ‘tidied-up image’. He says: ‘It sets itself up as a kind of trendy convenience store, but this image is now out of date.’
