All you wanted to know but were too afraid to ask

Author Richard Weston is offering what sounds like a good opportunity to gen up on every aspect of Modernism with his new book enigmatically entitled – wait for it – Modernism.

It costs 45, but could be worth its weight in gold for the sheer knowledge one could learn parrot-fashion. Modernism (the book) is said to reveal the most important influences in architecture, design and the arts in the twentieth century, and there’s no doubt that these are things worth knowing, or at least, worth sounding like you know about them.

Weston presents the history of the way Modernism came to dominate “despite the fact that it was originally the preserve of intellectuals”. Modernism will be published by Phaidon Press on 10 October, so get saving.
