Cobden club going for gold

Design work has started on the interiors of The Cobden Club just north of London’s Notting Hill. Mathew Godley is working in partnership with Justin Meath-Baker, partner at Baker Neville.

“It will be a modern interpretation of a classic club,” says Meath-Baker of the members-only venue. “We are playing around with three classic [styles] – the gentleman’s club, the colonial club and the Bohemian club.”

The dining room on the first floor will be in cream and gold. “We don’t want the design to jump out at you,” adds Meath-Baker.

The club is due to open in November.
