Survey to decide Green revival

THE Chartered Society of Designers is sending out a survey to its 7000 members with a view to resurrecting a Green committee which it organised in 1993.

The Eco-Design Survey is compiled by the Centre for Sustainable Design, based at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design. “We’ve had a good response to suggestions that the committee be started up again,” says Anne Chick, co-organiser of the centre.

A meeting will be held in February, after the results of the questionnaire are received. It will consider ways to address Green issues and look at the needs of designers, according to Chick.

The Centre for Sustainable Design is holding a conference on 30 October called Managing Eco-Design, as part of the Design Council’s Business and Design Week.
