Twelve idents debut in autumn schedules

A crop of cable and satellite TV channels are making their debut this autumn, heralding the first showing of more than a dozen on-screen identities.

English and Pockett’s on-screen identity for the UK’s only dedicated food channel Carlton Food Network launches on Monday.

The identity for the cable channel focuses on four different concepts based around food which looks like pieces of kitchen equipment, says a Carlton spokesman.

The consultancy, which is also responsible for the off-screen identities (pictured above), was brought in following its work for Carlton Select.

Meanwhile, Sky is unveiling 11 new satellite and cable channels, some of which are being set up by Granada Sky Broadcasting. Identities for the Sky roll-outs and Granada’s seven channels have been designed in-house, says a spokeswoman. And it is believed that Channel 5 is on the verge of appointing a consultancy for its on-screen identity.
