David Gentleman’s 40-year collaboration with Royal Mail is celebrated in a new autobiographical book entitled Artwork. Gentleman reveals the truth behind the decision to drop his ‘politically unacceptable’ environment stamps and his determination, alongside the then Postmaster General Tony Benn, to remove the Queen’s head from stamps. Artwork will be published by Ebury on 3 October, priced £30.
