SKB quiet on merger and move

A spokeswoman at UK drugs company SmithKline Beecham declines to comment on the design of a new corporate identity should it merge with US group American Home Products.

The existing SKB logo was created by Landor Associates when the former US group SmithKline Beckman merged with UK group Beechams.

SKB’s director of communications also declines to comment on rumours that a merger would see the company’s headquarters, which houses a significant in-house design team and operates a number of design rosters, move from Brentford to Philadelphia.

The company’s highest profile roster is for its Consumer Healthcare packaging needs. It consists of Smith & Milton Original, Klaus Wuttke and Partners, Dohm Pusey, Wickens Tutt Southgate, Tutssels and Andrew Partridge Design (DW 3 May 1996).
