The four finalists for the Citigroup Photography Prize 2004 are: Robert Adams, Peter Fraser, David Goldblatt and Joel Sternfeld. Their work will be on display from 29 January until 28 March. The winner will be announced on 4 March.

State of Play, from 3 February to 28 March, presents 13 international artists who play with ideas, materials and situations. Their work ranges from the humorous to the iconic, from the poetic to the absurd and from the light-hearted to the dark.

Venue: Serpentine Gallery, Kensington Gardens, London W2.

Until 29 February The Order of Things features the work of Fred Langford Edwards, who examines the endless variety found within the natural world and the human desire to control nature through imposed order.

Styrenissimo – Paul Cocksedge, until 21 March, presents an installation of lighting created by Cocksedge, who has based this project on Styrene, a series of lights made by applying heat to white polystyrene cups.

Venue: The Design Museum Tank, Shad Thames, London SE1.

New oil paintings by American artist Mary Heilmann will be on view until 28 February.
