Design Conspiracy to bottle Baby Cow range

Somerset hotel Babington House, a subsidiary of Soho House, is to launch a children’s range of bath products next Christmas, with bottle designs and labelling by The Design Conspiracy.

Baby Cow, which will initially encompass body lotion, bath milk, and a shampoo-body wash made from ‘meadowfoam’ herbal extract, will be sold at the hotel’s Cowshed spa, alongside adult hair and skincare products such as Bullocks body wash and Cow Pat hand cream.

Harvey Nichols, Liberty, Heal’s and The Conran Shop will also stock the range.

Babington House is launching the line after identifying a gap in the market, according to Cowshed Products general manager Sarah Jones. ‘There are lots of natural baby products, but not many with brand recognition. And there’s nothing, in England, that exists at the price point and quality level Cowshed is targeting,’ she explains.

The Design Conspiracy was briefed to adhere to the Cowshed product line’s brand values, but to ‘soften it up’, according to consultancy partner Ben Terrett.

The oval-shaped bottles will be made of white plastic, and labelling will feature product names rendered in a pastel pink or blue ‘bubble’ logotype, he says.

The Design Conspiracy was appointed to the work in March without a pitch.

Consultancy partner April Kent is creative lead on the project.
