Nykris flushes out iPod interactivity with the pPod

Digital communications group Nykris has developed what it claims is the first interactive audio service for the Apple iPod – a guide to London’s public toilets.

With the aptly-named pPod, users can locate the nearest conveniences or pick the best loo from a range of audio reviews, accompanied by tracks such as Handel’s Water Music and Cosmic Winds. More than 100 toilets are described in text and 14 have audio reviews, describing the cleanliness and fragrance levels of the toilets.

Philip Read, managing director at Nykris, says: ‘The service was designed to be a light-hearted guide to London’s conveniences, and it shows how unexplored the iPod is as a platform for content.’

The group is now exploring the potential for launching a guide for clubbers with linked audio clips. The pPod service can be downloaded for free at www.nykris.com/ pPod and is compatible with iPod version 3 and above.
