Back-scratching your way on to TV

If you were watching the news last Thursday, you may have seen an extract from the newsletter of design and public relations group Fishburn Hedges.

The story was written by Dudley Fishburn, brother of consultancy chairman Dale Fishburn. Dudley is Tory MP for Kensington, and believes in shaking hands with your enemy in the old fashioned British way.

His article suggested that Fishburn Hedges’ clients should develop a relationship with their rivals, as politicians do with the opposition. It was snapped up by Radio Four’s PM show and later appeared on all the main television news programmes.

Perhaps the big boss at Barclays, one of the consultancy’s clients, will be seen publicly smooching with the Lloyds head as a result.
