Scots groups to join forces

Edinburgh design groups The Almond Consultancy and Kirkhill Design Consultants are merging next week, in a bid to attract larger clients.

Kirkhill founder Norman Gilfillan comments, “We felt that there was one way to move on to the next stage and that was to join forces. Some big companies only want to work with bigger organisations.” The ten-year-old Kirkhill was a three-person set-up.

Gilfillan becomes a design consultant, Donna Browne becomes production co-ordinator and Chris Grimm becomes a designer in the new outfit, which will retain the Almond name.

Gilfillan claims that the new Almond will have a turnover of £1m and a staff of 13.
