Conran & Partners is kicking off a raft of interiors projects for restaurant group D&D London, the company formed by the management buyout of Conran Restaurants last year.

The first, the Bluebird on the King’s Road in London (pictured) and an established name in the D&D portfolio, closes this week for a remodelling of the ground floor and the introduction of a less formal dining space by C&P. It reopens later this month.

Others to follow include Iconic in Tokyo and Skylon at the revamped Royal Festival Hall in London. Further plans include a move back into the hotel market.

Last September, Conran Restaurants was bought out by chairman and chief executive Des Gunewardena and managing director David Loewi. It was renamed last month, with a corporate identity by C&P.
