Public art can make people think and raise awareness

Entertain and amuse? My goodness, is this the best that Emma Germain thinks designers want from public art (News Analysis, DW 15 May)?

Public art can be so much more. It has the opportunity to make people think, to raise awareness, to challenge and, above all, to encourage us all to grow. Come on designers, let’s prove to Emma that we are better than she thinks we are.
