English & Pockett’s creative director Darrell Pockett has designed a package of sequences to mark Stella Artois’ sponsorship of Channel 5’s nightly film slot, which began on Sunday. The sequences were inspired by the classic film Cinema Paradiso. Other credits go to executive producer Mario Fillo at English & Pockett, director of photography Richard Greatrex, art director Tony Common and Mcasso for the music.

Design & Art has created this identity, plus literature, for a British Council-organised conference, which kicked off a three-year programme of events to be held in various countries exploring new waves of cultural fusion. Design & Art’s designer David Hockin aimed to convey the theory that communication is deconstructed, blurred and reinvented as it travels through the UK’s contemporary social networks. Hockin says he hopes Design & Art will continue to be involved in the project, both via the annual conference and as other countries are ‘reinvented’.
