Conran to go to court
Sir Terence Conran has issued a writ in the High Court in an attempt to force a London bar to stop using a registered name.
Zincbar, a Kilburn bar which is operated by the Mean Fiddler group, opened last year.
However, Conran had already registered the Zinc trademark for the Zinc Bar & Grill, which is planned to open in London’s Haddon Street in August. The Conran project may be developed into a chain.
The Zincbar design was created by Juggernaut Design. Conran says Mean Fiddler refused to change the name of the bar when asked, and pushed the case to the courts.
