Furniture award announced

Design Week is launching a new furniture award which will promote fresh design talent within the UK.

The award focuses on contemporary, original designs that are in, or for, production.

The award is aimed at practising designers under 35 years of age, or not more than five years out of college. Entry is free of charge, though entrants are limited to no more than three submissions.

Items of furniture launched since 1 April 1995 are eligible and should be submitted no later than 30 May. The judging panel will select work from the finalists to appear in an exhibition to be held later this year.
