Going loco over trains

The paths of designers and trainspotters are forever crossing these days, as Impact Design and Marketing in Somerset will vouch. Marketing director Richard Oliver says modelmaking fans are already replicating a new identity Impact has applied to a Class 59 locomotive which is yet to enter full service. But perhaps the group is partly responsible, as it made the first model to present to the client, Deutsche Bahn. “These things can become collectors items,” notes Oliver.
