Whether we’re boys or girls shouldn’t matter

EH Billett’s letter on sexism in the industry (DW 21 March) prompts us to write as his/her sex is unclear.

Having both graduated from the Royal College of Art last summer, we are looking for product design work. Some of the rejection letters we have received address us as “ms” or “miss”. This can sometimes make subsequent phone calls amusing, but would be a sad reflection on the industry if it made a difference to potential employers whether we were male rather than female.
