Creative print practice under the spotlight at The Hub exhibition

The varying approaches to print practice will be the subject of Departure: New Explorations in Print, an exhibition launching later this month at Lincolnshire venue The Hub.

Curated by London Printworks Trust, the exhibition will showcase the work of eight creatives, exploring the relationship between people and print.

London Printworks and The Hub in-house team have created graphic illustration and posters for the show. According to Melanie Kidd, head of exhibitions at The Hub, ‘We have kept the design and written information accompanying the displays minimal in order not to detract from the work.’

Designers and artists exhibiting include Gunilla Klingberg, Sebastian White, Fiona Zobole, Rhian Solomon, Linda Florence, Simon Elvins, Christopher Pearson and Action Time Vision.

Digital artist Pearson, whose work is appearing this week in British Airways’ first class lounge at Heathrow Terminal 5, will exhibit two pieces of moving wallpaper design that play on a ten-minute loop.

‘I take physical designs that already exist and put them into a moving projection, allowing the linear, narrative scenes to fade into one another,’ says Pearson.

The show runs from 12 April to 15 June.
