Purple Circle to prove they don’t wear pink

Challenging the belief that designers are ‘all just big girls’ blouses’, three members of Purple Circle Design are embarking on an 11-day cycling adventure in November across Costa Rica.

Aiming to cycle from the west coast of the country across to the shores of the Atlantic, Michael Slack, John Lyle and Darren Fisk hope to raise lots of ‘dosh for Mencap… without even a cycling proficiency pass certificate between us’. The 450km trip includes mountainous terrain and jungles in 80&#186F heat.

The adventurers add: ‘If we fail, we’ll forever carry the millstone of being shandy-drinking, lightweight designery types. If we succeed, the drinks are on us.’
