Television branding specialist Lambie-Nairn won its first gold Medal at the Royal Television Society Awards, held last week, for its ident sequences for BBC1. Director Jason Keeley and his team from the consultancy accepted the honour. Judges especially liked the ‘completely different idea’ behind the idents, which transfer the traditional BBC globe symbol on to a hot air balloon.

Fashion retailer River Island hopes its new storecard, developed by specialist retail design group Dalziel & Pow, will reflect changes in the chain’s brand image and store designs. The consultancy was briefed to base its ideas around the natural element themes of wind, earth and water as an extension of in-store themes. Abstract graphics of sea and sky are aimed at the ‘aspirational and adventurous’ target customer.
