Dolphin joins Mercier Gray

Integrated marketing consultancy Mercier Gray has acquired music, leisure and retail design group Dolphin, for an undisclosed sum.

Dolphin will now be renamed Dolphin MG and will provide a specialist offer within the Mercier Gray Group of companies.

Dolphin MG, headed by joint creative directors Ed Sullivan and Simon Griffin, has already moved from its former premises to Mercier Gray’s London office in Covent Garden.

Two other Dolphin staff, both project managers, will also move.

“We haven’t signed on the dotted line with them – we are in negotiations at present,” says Mercier Gray managing director Rob Gray. He adds that the acquisition will be mutually beneficial. “We give Dolphin something it did not have before, in terms of scale, and it gives us something we did not have, in terms of award winning design credentials,” says Gray.

“Dolphin is so busy right now, we may have to recruit some more people. There’s a lot going on at the moment.”
