The Conran Foundation Collection 1998 runs until 31 January 1999. The collection’s remit is to present and document an archive of industrially designed products from the late twentieth century. Founding director of The Motivation Charitable Trust David Constantine has selected this year’s collection.

The Finnish Institute is showing a special screening of Futuro – A New Stance for Tomorrow on 6 December. Mika Taanila’s film about the rise and fall of the flying saucer-shaped house designed by Matti Suuronen in the Sixties.

Design Events hosts Burn’s Night on 22 January 1999 from 7.30pm onwards. The tickets are 62.63 and include reception drinks, a three-course dinner and entertainment by Scots pipes, a live Ceilidh band and a troupe of highland dancers.
