National Gallery launches Art Start
The National Gallery launches its £500 000 Art Start multimedia centre and interactive kiosk system today.
Architect Wright and Wright has designed the centre as a lounge space on the first floor of the gallery’s Sainsbury Wing.
The centre will feature a dozen terminals running the gallery’s touch-screen kiosk system, designed by The National Gallery’s new media department and design group Nykris.
Around 20 further kiosks will be installed throughout the gallery. They feature hi-resolution scans of the gallery’s paintings, information on the collection and facilities to create and print your own gallery tour.
