20 Twenty indecision

There seems to be some confusion over the reasoning behind the name of a desking range to be launched by Asher Furniture Systems this month. The new range, called 20 Twenty, bears a name remarkably similar to a design consultancy. Asher marketing director David Boon tells us that the preferred name was Vision, which was already in use by another furniture company, so 20 Twenty was adopted.

Designer Barry Jenkins at PSD, which created the system for Asher, has a different story, attributing the name to the size of the desk’s footprint – 2m2 – no we didn’t get it either. “He shouldn’t have said anything until we had our stories straight,” he says of his client.
