A citizen’s discount card by Leeds City Council is launched this week. The card provides discounts on all council facilities, and around 40 local retailers and restaurants are also involved. Local consultancy Thompson Design Office won a competitive pitch, initially for a single card design. Six different cards were developed, however, each bearing a local image alongside a photograph of the card-owner. Anybody can buy the card (for around 7 for most Leeds residents), with concessions available for those claiming benefits.
