Design and advertising consultancy Elliott Borra Perlmutter has appointed Julian Borra, brother of co-founder Adrian Borra, as a principal partner. He was previously a creative and board director at ad agency Leo Burnett.

Glazer has designed the identity for FastTrain, the rail and bus link from Heathrow Airport to central London which is a forerunner of the Heathrow Express rail service.

Spanish retail group Cortefiel has appointed John Herbert Partnership to reposition Milano, its men’s suit chain which operates 12 stores in France and Spain.

Lewis Moberly has won the grand award at the New York Festivals for its corporate brochure design for TBWA. Last year its packaging for Boots children’s batteries triumphed.

Paul Baines, a graduate from the 3D design course at Leeds Metropolitan University, has created an alternative to the ‘tip-up’ seats used in football stadiums. The concept is designed to cope with an audience which is constantly standing up then sitting down again. Baines’ system introduces a seat which rises vertically when no weight is placed on it to form a shaped barrier which the audience can lean back against.

Whitbread has launched new bar taps created by Jones Knowles Ritchie. The brewer is also to change the packaging of its alcopops brands Wild Brew and Shotts, prior to any Government-forced changes to the alcopops market.

Nescafé Red Cup is introducing new packaging to the Italian market in an attempt to persuade the espresso-loving Italians to drink a longer, weaker coffee. Design is by Minale Tattersfield & Partners.

Big Design has created a new corporate identity for London’s Tower Hill pageant. Briefed to come up with ‘contemporary imagery covering 2000 years of London history’, Big design created a bespoke typeface and key visuals from different history periods. Different sections from the main logo will be used for branding.

Royal College of Art student Kristine Matthews has won the 1000 annual Nick Wurr Memorial Bursary, set up by The Partners in memory of their former partner who died three years ago.
