The Architectural Association is celebrating its 150th anniversary next week in London with a whole host of architectural tours, exhibitions, lectures and evening events. Some are free, some are not. Take your pick from a visit to the offices of Lord Rogers or a festive evening in Bedford Square dancing to a Cuban salsa band. From 7-12 July.

The opening of the refurbished Spine Route on London’s South Bank is being celebrated with a week long free festival of art, design, music and dance. Street Life South Bank kicks off on 14 July and includes a series of events along Upper Ground, Belvedere Road, Concert Hall Approach and at Oxo Tower Wharf. Look out for the 33 banner designs (chosen from an amazing 2500 entries submitted as part of an open competition) which will be hung from the new South Bank street lights.
