Student awards scheme results

First prize in the 1999 Proctor & Stephenson Design Awards has been awarded to Gareth Nicholls from Falmouth College of Arts. The student won £1000 and a four-week work placement with the Bristol design group.

First prize in the 1999 Proctor & Stephenson Design Awards has been awarded to Gareth Nicholls from Falmouth College of Arts. The student won £1000 and a four-week work placement with the Bristol design group.

Paul Sutton from Bath Spa University College took the £500 second prize, while the joint third prize of £250 each went to Joanne Morris, also of Bath Spa, and David Bridges from the University of Wales College Newport. Tom-Asle Flatholm of Bath Spa was awarded a special commendation.

The awards scheme, in its 12th year, is for final year students from South Wales and the West Country. The judging panel included AMX Studios design director Malcolm Garrett and Carlton TV head of design Jackie Martin (DW 21 May).
