HMKM to show Habitat range in its best light

Hosker Moore Kent Melia is creating in-store displays for Habitat’s 40th anniversary celebrations and the company’s forthcoming product range, which is set to appear in stores this September.

In partnership with Tom Dixon, the retailer’s creative director, HMKM has developed designs for merchandising, window display and product presentation for the autumn/winter range. These designs, plus 22 new products, will be unveiled officially by Habitat on 9 June and are expected to illustrate the company’s ‘future vision’. Habitat refuses to comment further on its plans ahead of the launch.

HMKM has been working on the project since February, having picked up the business without a pitch on the basis of its previous relationship with Dixon. ‘We have previously done some on and off consultancy work for Habitat, but this is by far the biggest job so far. Dixon has been totally involved in the process,’ says creative director Peter Kent.

Habitat embarked on a three-year store expansion and refurbishment programme earlier this year, as part of broader plans to reinvigorate the brand. ‘A number of our stores will be refurbished and we plan to open five new stores in the UK over the next three years – assuming we get the right building, in the right location,’ confirmed a spokeswoman.
