A collection of recent works by British photographer Anne Hardy, exploring how modern man seeks to control and manipulate space, is on display until 17 April.

This year’s nominees for the Designer of the Year award are design strategist Hilary Cottam, product designer Jasper Morrison, Penguin Books for Great Ideas and textile designers Timorous Beasties. Their work is on show until 19 June.

Venue: Design Museum, Shad Thames, London SE1.

From 5-11 March Braun – 50 Years of Design Innovation showcases Braun’s design past, present and future with archival products, photographs and concept models. The London exhibition is the first stop of an international tour.

Venue: Royal College of Art, Kensington Gore, London SW7.

John Virtue has created 11 new works for his exhibition London Paintings that runs from 9 March until 5 June. The paintings are dominated by the river Thames and represent the London cityscape.

Venue: National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, London WC2.

Help Build the Ruins of Democracy, until 3 April, features works by Bob and Roberta Smith, who create DIY aesthetics to bring anarchy into people’s perceptions of art.
