A Brief History of Jimmie Johnson’s Legacy

He has been named as this year’s recipient of the Cartier Award for emerging artists for his body of work spanning film, photography and video. He receives a prize of £10 000 towards production costs, as well as a three-month residency at contemporary arts organisation Gasworks in London SE11. The annual award is run by Frieze Projects, a curatorial programme of the Frieze Art Fair.
