The burgeoning Manchester bar/café scene is getting another new venue next week with the opening of Joop.

Designed by local architectural practice Harrison Ince with graphics by Garry Hodder, Joop adds to Harrison Ince’s portfolio of contemporary bar design, alongside Barça, Prague 5 and Shed.

The design transforms an existing restaurant into a pre-club drinking environment and daytime café.

Manchester-based Hodder, a recent graphics graduate from the University of Brighton, initially designed the identity for Joop and has now been retained to design the menu and related stationery.

Hodder won the project on the strength of design work in his portfolio.
